How this pan conversion calculator actually helps
This calculator simply compares how different your original pan and new pan are,
👉 then automatically adjusts your ingredient amounts by that difference.
If it’s a round pan, it looks at the diameter.
If it’s a square or rectangular pan, it uses the width and length (plus the selected depth).
Once it knows how much more—or less—batter the new pan can hold,
it scales all ingredients up or down in one go.
About baking time & temperature
👉 This calculator adjusts ingredient quantities only.
👉 It does not automatically change oven temperature or baking time.
(For baking time estimates, use the Baking Time Calculator)
In real baking, this is the easiest way to think about it:
Switching to a pan with similar depth
→ Keep the same temperature, give yourself a bit more time
→ Start checking doneness from the middle of the bake
Switching to a much deeper pan
→ Lower the temperature slightly
→ Bake more slowly and for longer
Using a shallower pan or dividing the batter into muffin tins
→ It will bake much faster at the same temperature
→ Start checking far earlier than the original recipe time
Round, square, sheet… can I really mix them?
Yes, you can.
No matter the shape, the math works the same as long as we know
how much the pan can hold.
Round pan ↔ square pan
→ Enter the diameter, width, length, and depth correctly
→ Ingredients are scaled naturally based on capacity
For muffin tins or multiple small molds
→ The total batter amount helps estimate how many cups you can fill
→ Baking time will be much shorter, so check often as you go
How “trustworthy” are the results?
This calculator follows the same approach most baking communities and professional guides use:
👉 matching ingredient ratios to differences in pan size.
One thing to keep in mind:
On your first try, always fine-tune by watching color, aroma, center set,
and using a toothpick test to judge doneness.
